“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.” Maya Angelou
Luci Whiteman is our Director of Global Accounts for SWIEI.
The hospitality and customer service seed was planted early in Luci when she spent summers during college working at a resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She loved meeting new people during check-in before they started their wonderful vacation.
She began her career in sales at the Marriott in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2002, she transferred to the Marriott in downtown Philadelphia, where she handled association sales in the Washington, D.C. and Chicago markets, as well as the professional sports market countrywide. After moving to Phoenix in 2005, Luci represented the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge, JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn, JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass, and Marriott Scottsdale McDowell Mountain Suites. In 2007, Luci joined The Ritz-Carlton family for almost 6 years and represented the famous hotel company in both Phoenix and Dove Mountain. Next, she was the Director of Association Sales at the Five Diamond Fairmont Scottsdale Princess hotel for almost five years, where she handled the large association and SMERF market.
In 2016, Luci joined the Premier Event Resources (PER) team. At PER, she identified and developed relationships with new accounts, assisted planners with buying power, hotel site selection, contract negotiations, and more.
In 2021, Luci joined the Southwest Institute for Emotional Intelligence (SWIEI) team as the Director of Global Accounts, where she works with existing and new clients to educate them on EI training opportunities. SWIEI offers powerful life-changing training through numerous channels including online courses, conference keynotes, and personal coaching sessions.
Luci loves spending time with her family, traveling, playing sports, being outside, riding bikes, attending sport events, and rooting for the Arizona Coyotes. She is proudly serving as the 2021 Past President of the PCMA Southwest and Pacific Chapter. Her emotional intelligence competency strength is her authenticity, and she is continuing to work on her emotional self-awareness.
